During this four week, Monday evening class, (4 days, 2-3 hr evening classes) you will learn to make quality handmade paper using easily sourced material, tools, equipment, and processes.

You will learn how to recycle scrap paper from fine print processes, and learn traditional techniques for making quality handmade paper, with inexpensive and widely available tools.

You will receive hands on education as the instructor Thayer Bray will take you step by step through fiber prep, pulp beating, dipping, couching, and pressing paper you will make by hand

At the end of the class you will have a stack of beautiful handmade paper you made yourself!

Evening 1 : Overview of tools, equipment, and process; scrap paper prep, and soak.

Evening 2 : Beating the fibers, prepping the vat, dipping the mould, stacking the post; pressing the post

Evening 3 : Open supervised paper making: troubleshooting, pulp metering, pressing

Evening 4: sorting the finished dry paper, assessing your work, feedback celebrate!

This Class is $100+$25 lab fee. Lab fees pay for tools and materials.

* This is an intro/ intermediary class.

*This class requires moderate hand strength and a dexterity.

*This is a non-toxic process.

*This is a very wet process; your hands will be in vats of water for an extended period of time.
