During this Three week, Thursday evening class. (3 days, 2-3 hr evening classes) you will learn the basics of Letterpress printing.

You will learn the ins and outs of Letterpress, Designing the card, Selecting and setting wood and cast metal type, setting and locking your composition, and using antique letterpress card printing equipment!

You will receive hands on education as instructor/ printer Thayer Bray and Meister Letterer & letterpress impresario Calvert Guthrie take you step by step through the design, typesetting and printing process

At the end of the class you will have an edition of hand-pulled greeting cards you made yourself! perfect for sending to all your loved ones! This is also a great collaborative activity for small groups, couples and families!

Evening 1 : Introduction, Card design, type selection and typesetting.

Evening 2 : Setting up the press-proofing and printing- troubleshooting-

Evening 3:collect your prints, feedback and celebration!

This Workshop is $100+$40 lab fee. Lab fees pay for tools and materials., ink, paper and envelopes,

* This is an introductory/intermediate class.

*This class requires moderate hand strength and a dexterity.

*You may be exposed to natural and petroleum solvents in this class. Safety procedures will be followed.
