“what’s a zine?!”

A zine, short for magazine, is a small handmade art book or comic book, usually 4-16 pages, is drawn, collaged, or written by an individual, and inexpensively printed with a copy machine.

In this 4 hour workshop you will learn how to make your own Halloween Zine or Mini Comic to hand out to trick or treaters during Halloween!

This class will be focusing on several layouts for one-page “letter” size paper, from the classic 8 page zine with foldout mini poster, to the zigzag accordion book, to the traditional miniature staple bound 16 page mini comic!

You will receive hands on education as the instructor Thayer Bray will take you step by step through the zine/ mini comic design, drawing, copying and binding process.

At the end of the workshop you will have a stack of Xeroxed mini zines to hand out, plus an exchange portfolio of every zine or mini comic made in the class by the other workshop goers!

This Workshop is $40+$10 lab fee. Lab fees pay for tools and materials.
