Intermediate block Printing: The Woodcut --Wednesdays in June 4/6, 11/6, 18/6, 25/6, 6-9 pm

During this Four week, Wednesday evening class. (4 days, 2-3 hr evening classes) you will learn the exciting skill of Woodcut , relief block printing.

You will learn the ins and outs of Cutting and printing with wood on paper in this class. from designing your image, cutting the Wood, preparing and rolling the ink, registering and printing the blocks on paper for an edition,

You will receive hands on education as the instructor Thayer Bray will take you step by step through the block cutting and printing process

At the end of the class you will have an edition of hand-pulled prints you made yourself!

Evening 1 : Introduction, Image designing, block cutting

Evening 2 : proofing and printing- troubleshooting

Evening 3: printing and troubleshooting

Evening 4: collect your prints, feedback and celebration!

This Workshop is $100+$30 lab fee. Lab fees pay for tools and materials: linoleum, paper/ cloth, ink

Feel free to bring your own cloth/ clothing and paper!

* This is an introductory class.

*This class requires moderate hand strength and a dexterity.

*You may be exposed to natural and petroleum solvents in this class. Safety procedures will be followed.

*Children 12-17 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. children 12-17 tickets are half price with full price adult admission.
